As a high school photographer located in Alpharetta, Georgia, I have learned that it’s not just the location that makes the portrait, but the persona of the student.

This senior session took place in Downtown Alpharetta at different times of day and within a 10 minute walk of each location. The key to choosing your location is having backdrops that resonate with you, are a reflection of who you are and what you want to communicate about your time, now.

The images above were taken on Main Street in Alpharetta. The goal here was to show Kalaih’s love for the guitar she has named Greta and her bubbly personality.  The JLI Experiences focuses on your talent, your accomplishments, your goals and your dreams.

I have known her since she was in elementary school and that may be the main reason why this particular session pulled a few  heart strings. The experience began with getting to know her as the senior and not the 10 year old, I knew her to be. Her likes, dislikes, passions, hobbies and loathes. Her style and  her hopes for the future. I believe it pays to see yourself as you hope to be, then where you currently are. You have to have a vision.

With some wardrobe direction and a continuous communication, we had her outfits set. JLondon Images provides clients with a styled closet to choose outfits from or to supplement your won style.

The day began  with make up  – light make up to enhance her already beautiful look. Make up by Breoanna.

We began in a park in downtown Alpharetta, across the street from Alpharetta Library. We began with  the smoke bomb cheer experience where we let off a colorful smoke bomb in her favorite color. Safety is always important, so precautions were taken.

She loved it. We moved on to the traditional cap and gown, where she couldn’t retain her excitement to a  fun “boss look” and finished up with the night time portraits off Main Street Alpharetta, Georgia.  The location doesn’t complete the portrait, it’s the senior student’s complete personality and vision.
