The best time to book your senior photos will depend on a few items that differ from student to student and from high school schedule to high school schedule. Seniors and their families use different variables to priorities their decision. Let’s discuss some of these items so you can better know what time or season works better for you.

When are you Available?

When are you available? You never realize just how little time you have until you try and work a photoshoot into a busy senior year. Before you know it, it’s a month before you graduate, and you don’t have a date for your session yet or the season you wanted has passed.

Many students take part in  extra-curricular sports and activities which usually take place in the fall. This can leaving a short time for the planning of a senior photo session. If you are more involved in sports such as softball, spring is a difficult season to plan around. The main goal is to not be stressed before or on the day of your senior session – it will show in your photos. On the day of your shoot, you want to be relaxed and enjoy every second.

The good news is that even if you do have to choose a day in the middle of your sports season, we would have worked together head of your session date to plan for your style, outfit changes, location and theme.

The Theme

The theme of the photos has to do with the common thread. Some students like to have two or three, which is awesome. Celebrations do not have to be limited to just one theme. One of our previous clients had three different looks in one small downtown area. Each location was within a 5-10 min walk and showed different aspects of her personality. Having an idea of your themes will influence the time of year your session is booked for and the outfits you choose.

For example, a beautiful floral outfit for your senior session, will work best in the Spring or Fall in Georgia.   During your discover call, we can discuss your ideas and I can help guide you to your your perfect date that works for us both.

The Location

Every photo tells your story. Your location will provide context to your story. It is important to consider your location because not all locations look good at the all times of the year. For example, a park setting would look best in the Spring or Fall, an urban shoot could work almost at any time of the year. However, weather would need to be considered as this will impact your outfit, your makeup and even your hair texture. In Georgia, humidity is not always your best friend.

Whatever you prioritize, I am here to walk you through the process, choose locations and help pick out outfit. It’s all about your personality, your celebration and how we can make you look your best.
