Welcome to the last part of my London HS Senior/Graduate sessions. I have learned so much from all 4 students. Although they have now graduated from their respective schools, they are still students learning and finding their way through life and what it has to offer.
Today, I present Shequan. This particular session was personal, very personal. This handsome young man is my nephew. The session alone was the first time I had spent alone with him in approximately 16 years. For a reason or another, we were separated. I then moved to the USA and I never saw him again. 2017 changed all that and I have since been communicating with him via social media.
Even editing his images was overwhelming. I couldn’t see past the tears. I had to keep stopping. I couldn’t believe God had granted me the gift of shooting my nephew at 18. I got to wish my nephew a happy 18th. WOW!
I learned that he is just like any curious teen. He is both smart, intelligent and driven. He has been a part of the cadets for many years and continues to enjoy the experience. It brings him order and has been a benefit to his growth from boy to man. I could say so much more and of course it may be bias, but hey, he is my nephew and I am so in love with him. As much as I was, if not more, than when he was a toddler.
The session, was more of a “get to know you” session. He was comfortable doing what he loves, football/soccer, as I was behind the camera. The time with him was precious. I am blessed to call him nephew.
I present Shequan.
Thank you so much for sharing this journey with me. These High School graduates have done well thus far in a world so far different to what I grew up in. I am so excited to see how their choices pan out in the future. Of these four citizens Kyanne, Nyam, Fairooz and Shequan is anything to go by, I know that our future is in safe hands.
